Jets Ticket info

Jets/Bills Tickets for Purchase
We’ve been speaking to the Jets and although the game with the Bills is nearly sold out, they’ve put an upper deck section of seats aside temporarily for us Bills fans. Here is the link to order:

www.JetsGroups.com/Backers

I recommend ordering soon. We’ll have more details about that weekend soon but Penn 6 WILL be throwing a party the night before for Bills fans in town. They will also have an early special for game day. We’ll also have tailgate info for you, us Bills fans take over one of the lots and we’ll be doing it again. There were easily 1,000 of us two years ago.

Bills at Jets – Tailgate Info 2019

TIME

  • Game Sunday, September 8, 2019.
  • Game starts at 1:00 pm.
  • Lot opens at 8:00 am (NFL rules)
  • I suggest you get there first thing if you want to park right next to the action. The lot doesn’t fill up very quickly so if you aren’t there first thing, you probably won’t be too far away.

LOCATION
Lot 26 Pole A

Important note from Kenny aka Pinto Ron:
Some recent road trip events I have been a part of have been shut down by the police. Stadium’s are becoming intolerant to large masses of fans assembling, leaving a giant messes, and engaging in shenanigans (think table crashing). What happens is a group of 2 or 3 will wander in with a 18 or 24 pack and a bag of munchies. When they leave there are 18 or 28 empty cans and empty bags of munchies scattered on the ground where whey were standing. Multiple this by several hundred and we have a huge problem.

In the past few years, Pinto crew members have stayed late (usually half the first quarter) to at least beat the mess down to a more manageable level to avoid being banned the next year. We are not doing that this year. We are providing garbage bags, and there are dumpsters to place trash in (or near). This is not too much to ask, don’t get us chased out of here next year! This is last tailgating lot on this side of the stadium, and one of the last lots at the lowest parking costs.

DIRECTIONS

WHO CAN COME

FOOD AND DRINKS

  • Food and drinks are bring your own.
  • Do you need to bring a grill (or other cooking equipment)? There are others with them. I’m sure they would share space, but I would highly recommend either bringing your own or sandwich type foods.

TICKETS

    • Section 336, Rows 17-21:
$90.43 per ticket through this link:
      http://jetsgroups.com/backers19
    • Other options are StubHub or Ticketmaster.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! A few years back, the lot was left an utter disaster. Jets/NFL security wasn’t happy.Be respectful. Yes the Meadowlands was built on a garbage dump, but lets not add more garbage on top. All kidding aside, we need to be respectful.
    • We need a volunteer to bring garbage bags.
    • Ken “Pinto Ron” Johnson is the man responsible for starting this tailgate, lets not mess up his reputation. He’s a legend.
  • Is MetLife safe for Bills fans? My personal experience is yes absolutely. Yes there will be some trash talking, but nothing too bad. Like any place in the world, it almost always takes 2 to escalate.
  • Will there be a TV to watch the game? Most likely not.
  • Public House will still have the game on.
  • If a group of more than 8 is needed, please call Tom Giulietti with the NY Jets, 973–549–4872. Mention the NYCBBB!

PUSH Buffalo – NYC Event Invite

unnamed

PUSH Buffalo invites you to a terrace party to celebrate how far Buffalo has come, and to envision an even brighter future. As a city that was torn apart by decades of disinvestment, we are reclaiming the crown of the Queen City and the future wellbeing of our communities. Buffalonians from the North, South, East and West Sides are coming together to reimagine and remake our city into one that we’re proud of; into one that holds true to the “City of Good Neighbors,” with access to family-sustaining jobs, decent homes to live in, and healthy and strong neighborhoods. As PUSH Buffalo members and community residents realize their dreams can be reality, they have put Buffalo on the forefront of a movement powered by community-driven revitalization.

Join us on September 22nd at An Evening for Buffalo—a celebration of the progress Buffalo has made, with people like you and hundreds of others at the forefront of the fight for a vibrant and just city. A glimpse of some of the exciting progress we will be sharing with you:

  • The completion of 19 new building sites, making a total of 86 affordable housing units on the West Side of Buffalo
  • The addition of 2 new affordable commercial units that support our city’s diversity and culture
  • Finalizing the redevelopment plans for School 77—The school will become 32 units of affordable senior housing and a community hub for Buffalo’s Westside

Please join us in NYC this fall in acknowledging the incredible accomplishments that PUSH Buffalo and our city have made, and recognizing the movement builders and workers that have made it all possible. Attendance is free, but a request for your voluntary financial support will be made. To RSVP to An Evening for Buffalo, email Aaron Bartley ataaronbartley@pushbuffalo.org.

Sincerely,

The PUSH Buffalo Team

From Boston Backers: Bills vs Pats – Pinto Ron Tailgate Info

Copied from Bills Backers of Boston:

Twas the week before playoffs…

Tailgating info for Foxboro is below, but as this is the last week of the Bills season, we want to thank you all for the amazing year at the Harp. This was the first year in a while the Bills were in it so late into the season, and it was great to see so many of you packing the Harp well into December. While we can’t control the product on the field, we love the energy you bring to the bar each Sunday. Thanks for your incredible generosity on Charity Day, setting a new record raised during the event! We look forward to seeing you all back at the Harp next season. Be sure to spread the word about the group to any new WNY’ers that move to Boston over the offseason.

Here’s the info on this week:
This week @ The Harp:

Wanna know what really ticks off Boston fans? When you pack a bar in their city with fans cheering for the opponent. So come on down to the Harp and cheer on your Bills!
Kickoff is @ 1pm.

This week @ Gillette Stadium:

Lucky enough to have a ticket to the game? Come on down and join our annual Bills Backers Pinto Ron Foxboro Tailgate! We’ll be joined by arguably the most famous Bills fan, Ken “Pinto Ron” Johnson. Ken’s known for attending over 300 consecutive home and away games, and got his nickname for the Ford Pinto he drives to every Bills home game that’s the centerpiece of some massive tailgate celebrations. Here’s the info for the tailgate:

Cost: $50/vehicle (expensive, we know. But at least it’s a private lot so your $$ isn’t going to Robert Kraft)

Time: Lot officially opens at 8:30am, but we’ve been told they’ll allow people in starting at 8:00am.
Location: Route 1 Liquor Mart, 29 Washington Street, Foxboro, MA

Tailgate FAQ:

Where in the lot is the party?
– We generally set up shop along the tree line in the back of the lot.

What time should I show up?
– The lot opens at 11am, and they start filling in cars from the back of the lot (where we normally set up shop). The only way they can guarantee parking next to a group is to show up together. So if you’re not there early enough to be part of the main group, just park nearby and bring your stuff over.

What if the lot is full?
– The liquor store lot is before the building. There is another larger lot IMMEDATELY past the Liquor Store lot in a large field (you can see it on the google maps link above) behind the liquor store building. You can park there and just walk over the low guardrail in the back of the lot to join the party.

I’m going with Pats fans, will they have fun?
– It should be a pretty friendly environment for them. Our group is surrounded by Pats fans every year, and sometimes a few are mixed up in the middle. They’ve been very friendly in the past, and many of them ask to partake in Bills tailgate traditions like the bowling ball shot. We’ve also been known to square off in a drinking game or two. Many Pats fans have told us they have a blast at our tailgate, and a few are coming back to join us this year.

How far is it from the stadium?
– About a 10-12 min walk to the gate. Allow an extra 10-15 min going into to allow for the lines due to searches/pat downs. Also be careful taking a “beverage” with you walking to the stadium as law enforcement here is not as lax as in Orchard Park.

Can we tailgate postgame?
– One of the reasons we picked this lot is it’s not stadium owned, so the rules are a little more lax and they don’t kick you out right after the game. Generally we’ve been able to stick around for an hour or two postgame without a problem, which is great because traffic isn’t as bad by then so the drive home is easier.

Any questions we missed? Drop a post to the wall on the facebook invite above and we’ll be happy to answer.

No matter where you’re watching the game on Sunday we hope you have a great time, and that we all get to celebrate a Bills win!

Safe travels to all those heading traveling for the holidays, and Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating this week!

cheers & go bills,
-Bills Backers of Boston

NYCBBB Goes Gold for Pediatric Cancer Awareness

What’s with the gold colored background you ask? nycbbb.com has gone gold to raise awareness of pediatric cancer.

Why go gold?

As many of you already know, NYCBBB co-founder Matt Kabel’s baby daughter Sally has been battling Leukemia for a little over a year. We’ve all been following along on their site,http://www.sweetsallysunshine.com/, and Facebook page,https://www.facebook.com/SweetSallySunshine and trying to help when we can.

Recently, there was a request for the Empire State Building to light up gold to raise awareness of childhood cancer. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Not only was the request rejected, but it was done on a cold impersonal letterhead template. The same Empire State Building that went green for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, won’t go gold for sick children.

Parents’ and friends’ appeals on the Empire State Building Facebook page haven’t been ignored. They’ve been deleted. Heartless.

There is an ongoing campaign to change this. #empiregogold is gaining steam on Facebook and Twitter. And beyond just online. Matt and Nicole were interviewed on Fox 5. The Today’s Show aired a segment on the campaign with a bunch of supporters rallying on. The Daily News ran a story of Bay Ridge City Councilman Vincent Gentile’s own appeal being ignored.

Lets help. I ask you fellow NYCBBBers to get behind the effort and get the Empire State Building to have a heart and go gold. Spread the word.
