Thank you and Cleveland Browns

Hello 838 Bills Fans,

What an exciting team, huh? The playoff picture is a little clearer now – and more realistic. Can you taste it!?!?

Raffle Update
We want to thank everyone who participated in our 50/50 raffle. We exceeded our goal! The surplus will be put towards 2005 expenses. If you want to see how much was raised and what the money is being used for, you can check out our budget page:
https://www.nycbbb.com/features/budget.shtml

A few people donated to us without participating in the raffle. Thanks so much! I cannot express how much we appreciate it.

Browns
The Bills take on the struggling Cleveland Browns this Sunday at 1pm. It’s the second week in a row that they take on a team with a mid-season coaching change.

There’s no quit in this team. I know they’re not going to take the Browns lightly. So you BETTER get on over to McFadden’s if you want to watch the Bills smudge the Browns!!!

I was trying all morning to think of something more clever than smudge, but still can’t figure out what the heck a Brown is… Sounds like a stain of some sort…

Miami Dolphins and Raffle

Hello all 838 Bills fans!

“The fans in Buffalo are the meanest in the NFL because no one wants to live there” — Dan Marino, October 2004

I hate Miami. The Dolphins are standing between us and .500. Between us and the playoffs. Between us and a sweep of the remaining season. I hate Miami.

Come on down to McFadden’s for one of the biggest games of the season to watch our red-hot Buffalo Bills try to do something they haven’t done in years… win 3 games in a row! Plus, its Willis McGahee’s homecoming!

The game is at 1pm, so you can watch us kick the crap out of Phins, then head over to Rockefeller Center to check out the tree! Man… I hate the Miami Dolphins. I’ll take shoveling snow over a hurricane any day!

Raffle
One thing we at NYCBBB do NOT want to do is charge our members dues. All of the other major backers around the country charge their members money to watch games with them. Unfortunately, that means we have pick up the costs with our personal money. We are going to run a 50/50 raffle this weekend to try and cover as much of our costs as possible. Half the money will cover our costs; the other half will be the prize.

Here are the costs we’d like to cover:
2003
Web Hosting – $99.00
Domain Name Registration – $20.00
Total 2003 = $119.00

2004
Web Hosting – $99.00
Domain Name Registration – $20.00
FTP Pro – $44.95
Email service- $45.00
Promotion Cards – $25.00
Total 2004 = $233.95
Grand total = $352.95

Raffle Tickets will be sold at the following levels – $5 for 5 tickets, $10 for an arms length, and $15 for MY height. You can buy them at our booth or from us when we walk around. Please help support NYCBBB! TJ Wins! As most of us found out at McFadden’s during the Seahawks game, NYCBBB member TJ Allard was a finalist to be the NYC correspondent for Fox’s nationally syndicated “Good Day Live” weekly show. Well with your support (and chants of “TJ TJ TJ” throughout the bar) TJ won! Bills fans are taking over the world! SQUISH THE FISH SQUISH THE FISH SQUISH THE FISH!!!

Squish the Fish!

Hello all!

This is great! Listening to the 24/7 Christmas Music station on my brand new clock/radio, and checking out today’s news on our victorious Buffalo Bills onwww.billsdaily.com! Who would have known this team would blow out two NFC playoff contenders?? The last two weekends at McFadden’s have been nothing short of FANDEMONIUM!!! The Bills are 5-6 and have the 2nd easiest NFL schedule remaining. We go 10-6 and we have a shot at the playoffs! We’ll need help, but if the Red Sox can win the World Series, we can make the playoffs!

And look at what we have here. A game against our bitter rivals, the Miami Dolphins. We beat the Fins, and we’re back to .500 for the first time in over a year. Everything considered this is a HUGE game for our team, so plan on being at McFadden’s at 1pm this Sunday! The Fins are going down baby!!! I’m fired up about this team!!!

Hey…Elvis’ song ‘Blue Christmas’ just came on the radio…good stuff…

Miami
A TON of Bills fans are heading to Miami this weekend for the game. They’re saying there will be more Bills fans than Dolphins fans! There is a big Buffalo Bash down there at a place called Shooters and NYCBBB’s Michael Bly is tentatively playing it. Some of our members are looking for tix to this party. If you know where to get any, please email me.

Buffalo Bills vs. Seattle Seahawks

Hello all!

I have to start off by saying that Sunday’s game at McFadden’s was probably the most fun atmosphere we’ve had since the Miami “Snow Game” two years ago. I was trading so many high-fives with people all over the bar that it was like being at The Ralph! I think some fans actually DID think it was The Ralph, since there was a touch football game going on at halftime outside on the sidewalk at halftime!

This Sunday the Bills take on the Seahawks in Seattle at 4:15pm. This means that anybody traveling back from Buffalo for the Holiday should have no problem making it! Plus, we will be presenting the check for $1,100 to a representative from Roswell Park. The special starts at 3:15 and runs until 8:15.

Last time we were in Seattle, Flutie kicked the crap out of them!

Buffalo Bills vs. St. Louis Rams

Hello all,

OK…my angry period is over, and I am looking to this week’s game. We are taking on the Rams, who also can’t win on the road and are a bunch of nannies that play in a dome. Although Drew is starting, expect JP Losman to play in certain situations to get him more game time! This may be the last start of Drew Bledsoe’s career…

The game begins at 1pm. Since we haven’t experienced much overflow lately, Calico Jacks will not be opening until 4pm from now on.

And a note for next weekend’s game. We will have a representative from Roswell Park Cancer Institute at McFadden’s to hand over a check for the money we raised. Please try and make it to that game which is 4:00 against Seattle. Anybody have the ability to make one of those big oversized checks? Let me know…

Frustrated Buffalo Bills Fan

Hello all,

Hold on…

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Man, we were so close to turning things around coming off 2 big wins. And what do we do? Collapse on National TV! This was one of the hardest losses I have ever witnessed as a Bills fan, and that’s saying a lot! After the first quarter I sat in our booth and just stared at the TV in utter disgust. Drew Bledsoe made a joke to the media last week saying that he has thrown so many passes to Troy Brown that he had to remember that the wide receiver (sub-cornerback) is NOT his teammate anymore. And what does Drew do? Throw a ball RIGHT TO HIM FOR AN INTERCEPTION! DREW, YOU PLAY FOR THE BILLS NOW!

The media and message boards are calling for JP Losman to take over. At this point, I don’t think I can disagree. The rookie got his feet wet on Sunday night (which I called in my last email!) and didn’t look too impressive, but anything would be better than 8 for 19 with 3 interceptions. If you can believe it, JP’s passer rating of 16.7 was higher than Drew’s 14.3 on Sunday night!

No, we’re not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, and as the eternal optimist, I will not count us out. But even if this team was to win the rest of their games, what’s the point if the World Champs OWN our quarterback and head coach?

Rumors are now circulating that this team is being set up by Tom Donahoe to be sold, since there is no other excuse for the last four years of embarrassment. I don’t buy into that, but I think us fans deserve answers for the downfall of this team over the last four years!

Sorry to be a columnist (that’s Michelle’s job), but I had to vent! Breath Matt…breath…

Ralph Wilson
A movement has started to get Buffalo Bills Owner Ralph Wilson inducted into the Hall of Fame. The fact that he is not in there is simply a travesty. Mr. Wilson is the man who saved the AFL when it was in financial trouble, saving teams like the Bills, Chargers, and Patriots. He has kept the team in a small market like Buffalo, and is against teams moving between cities.

Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots

Hello all 830 Bills fans!!!

This Sunday, the Bills will play their most important game of the season. They’re on a two-game winning streak and are starting to play true smash-mouth football behind Willis McGahee. They are up against the defending champion New England Patriots on their turf. Win this game, and the Bills will make a statement on national TV that they are playoff contenders. New England is suffering many injuries as both starting cornerbacks are out and Marcia Brady is playing with a shoulder injury. The Bills have nothing to lose. JP Losman took some snaps with the first team yesterday, don’t be surprised if Mularkey has some cards up his sleeves.

The game will be played at 8:30pm this Sunday night. Come on down to McFadden’s to watch this important game with hundreds of your fellow fans! The special starts at 6:30pm and will run until the conclusion of the game. Hell, you mine as well plan on coming to McFadden’s at that time to grab a seat and some dinner. Maybe some beef-on-weck or a few Sahlen hot dogs! I know I am!!!

This game is huge…HUGE…be there to support our team! Let’s go Buffalo Let’s Go!!!

At first… I wasn’t so excited that this game was on at 8:30 and against the Pats. But think about it. The up-and-coming Bills taking on their rival in a must win game on national TV under the lights. If the Bills were ever in a position to upset the World Champions, this is it.

I’m starting to get fired up…REALLY FIRED UP!!! Anybody else out there fired up???

Back from Buffalo

Hello all,

Eating a ‘Danny’s Special’ sub from Wegmans as I type this email. The fat lady refuses to sing as the Bills look to continue their winning streak in New England this Sunday night at 8:30pm. Come down to McFadden’s and watch Willis McGahee go for his 4th 100 yard rushing game of the season!

NYCBBB trip to Buffalo
I think most of us our back now. 60 members traveled to Buffalo this weekend to see the Bills kick the crap out of the NJ Jets. We went for a tour of the stadium on Saturday and spent a good 20 minutes hanging out on the field! Boy its WINDY down there! Afterwards, we headed across the street to Danny’s Bar and Restaurant for Happy Hour. The Happy Hour was made quite interesting as retired Bills including Hall of Famer Joe DeLamielleure, Tight End Mark Brammer, and WR Lou “LOOOOUU” Piccone stopped by to hang out with us. Pictures were taken, autographs were signed, and interesting stories were shared. I could have fit my entire hand into Joe D’s Hall of Fame ring! They were such great, down to earth guys and everybody had a great time hanging out with them. I was trying to get Lou and Mark down to NYC some weekend so they could hang out at McFadden’s, so we’ll see. I want to personally thank Mark Brammer for getting the Bills Alumni together to hang out with our group!

Most of us tailgated at the Pinto where the majority of our members saw what is the most outrageous tailgate party in the country. I saw some members eat wings cooked on the hood of the Pinto (cough…Kevin Smith…cough) and pizza made in a filing cabinet. I think the reactions varied after seeing the Ketchup Opening ceremony. Don’t ask me to explain it, words cannot grasp the experience. We also met Jeff and George who run the Boston Bills Backers, and are looking forward to working with them as Buffalonians overtake the Northeast. We were thinking of challenging them to a softball game this summer, so Yankee fans, get ready for some revenge!

The game was great as the temperatures felt like they were in the upper 50’s with plenty of sun and wind. I had great seats down low on the 50 yard line thanks to Ryan Thompson’s dad. We could see Ralph Wilson from our staircase, and at the end of the game the old man had his hands in the air with the biggest smile I’ve ever seen. Why this man is not in the Hall of Fame I will never understand.

The trip was a MAJOR success and we look forward to making next year’s even better! We should have some pictures up by Thursday and will send them then. If you have any, send them to soreco at gmail.com

T-Shirts
Last year McFadden’s ordered 250 NYCBBB shirts and sold them out in 3 weeks, after which many complained that they couldn’t get one. This year they ordered 500 and haven’t sold many. Please pick up one of these great shirts for $15 at the bar.

Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets Round 2!

Hello all you 824 Bills fans!

If the Red Sox can win the World Series, and George W. Bush can overcome the Washington Redskins curse…then surely the Bills can end their streak of not making the playoffs!!!

The Bills take on the New Jersey Jets in Orchard Park this Sunday at 1:00pm. Over 60 of us will be heading to Western New York for the game so rest of you should head to McFadden’s. Also, the NYC Marathon is on Sunday so take public transportation, avoid the FDR, and come on in to root for the Bills as well as the runners!

NYCBBB trip to Buffalo
Yesterday, I emailed specifics to those who RSVP’d for the trip to Buffalo and tour of the stadium, if you didn’t receive it; please let me know by replying to this email.

Also, I have 4 tickets to sell at face value for this sell-out game if anybody is interested. Please email me.

Roswell Park
There will be a representative from Roswell Park in McFadden’s on November 28th during the Seattle Seahawks game. We will officially donate the $1,100 we raised for them. Trip to Buffalo

Hello all,

Everybody on this list is either going to Buffalo or is the contact person for somebody going. There is around 60 of us heading to see the Bills kick the crap out of the Jets at 1pm on Sunday. Please print this email and bring it with you.

First off, here are the following staff members attending and our cell #’s. I am the point person so please call me if you need to reach us.

Matt Kabel – 917-279-6798
Matt Soreco – 516-668-6304
Kevin Smith – 914-374-2304

I have 2 tickets to sell at face value if you know anybody looking.

Saturday
Please arrive at Ralph Wilson Stadium no later that 2:45. Enter One Bills Drive, stop at the security shack and tell them you are there for the New York City Bills Backers Tour, then proceed in straight and take a left into the Admin lot. We will all meet in front of the Admin offices. The tour will last about 45 min, and what we see depends on the weather. The tour will start and 3, so you better be there or we’ll start without you.

After the tour, we will head over to Danny’s (www.dannysrestaurant.com) across the street on the corner of Abbott and Big Tree Roads. They will have happy hour specials for us and you can grab a few drinks and some food if you want. Former Buffalo Bill Mark Brammer will be there to talk about what it was like to be a Tight End for the Bills in the 80’s. He is trying to find other players to come as well. Happy hour will go until 6:00 or so, and then you are on your own. I personally have to go visit family for awhile, so you can see what Kevin and Matt plan on doing. I’m sure most will want to head to another bar or stay there, others will go see family.

Sunday
Lot opens at 9:00am. By this time I think most of us will have worked out plans with each other on where to meet and what time. You can park wherever you want, but most of us will be meeting up at Kenny’s Pinto, even if we don’t park there. Bring your own beer and food. Kenny said you can store stuff in his van if you want to during the game. Here is a link to the Pinto’s location and other info:
https://www.nycbbb.com/kenny/

Weather
Kevin and Matt are saying its going to rain, but weather.com said its going to be partly sunny and 50 degrees all weekend. Of course, it feels about 20 degrees colder when you’re in the stands, so I suggest dressing warm and to be prepared for wet weather. I usually wear a pair of jeans under a pair of waterproof pants, 2 pairs of socks, long sleeve shirt with a sweatshirt and coat. Or go in a t-shirt and thong if you prefer…

I think that’s about it. I didn’t BCC the addresses so I could answer questions and you can see the answers. Please don’t email everybody unless it relates to the whole group.

We have tried to keep this weekend as simple as possible. Afterwards, we will be open to any suggestions you may have.

I’ve had a busy day at work, so I apologize for the official-ness of this email….I promise to be more fun during the weekend!

Oh yeah… J – E – T – S SUCK SUCK SUCK
