Buffalo Bills vs. San Diego Chargers, JP!

Hello all 1,412 NYC Bills fans!

“It was nice to have JP back. He had the eye of the tiger in the huddle. He was ready to rock. He’s going to be a good one. Now it’s just a matter of getting him there and getting him on a roll.”
— Bills guard Chris Villarrial

I wish you all could have been with me at the game last week. When JP Losman came in, the crowd went NUTS. When he threw the two touchdown passes to Lee Evans, it was absolute FANDEMONIUM, like the days of Jim Kelly connecting with Andre Reed. I’m talking jumping up and down, bear hugs, high fives that probably left marks, “HOLY SH~T!” chants, and tears of joy (ok, maybe no tears but you get the point!) It was absolutely exciting to watch the Bills play again, and you could sense that the team was as fired up as the crowd was. The Bills still haven’t named him the starter for this week, but they will, and it’s going to be one hell of an exciting game!

1) LT versus Willis.
2) Former Bills coach Wade Phillips versus Jerry Gray.
3) AFC S.T. PLAYER OF THE WEEK BRIAN MOORMAN VERSUS MIKE SCIFRES!!

With us being only one game behind a VERY injured Pats team and a reported 10,000 Bills fans attending the game in San Diego, this is going to be awesome!

The Bills take on the Chargers this Sunday at 4:15pm. The specials will run from 3:15-8:15pm, and since its supper time feel free to order Sahlen hot dogs or beef on weck. There may be some seats left at Calico Jacks, I hear there were some issues there last week but I assure you they were ironed out and Matt and I will be on hand to see that it’s awesome as always, so give them a call (212.557.4300) and join us for this exciting match up! Where else would you rather be???

Feel free to discuss the JP/Holcomb situation on our message boards:

Buffalo Bills vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Hello all 1,392 Bills fans,

Guess what? The Bills aren’t dead yet. So what if the Bills best week so far was last week when they didn’t even step foot on the field. It was still a terrific week! A trifecta of division losses puts the Bills only one game back from the Pats, who got spanked by the Colts after narrowly edging us out a week earlier. And the Dolphins and Jets aren’t getting any better. It’s up for grabs folks. It’s up for grabs.

Don’t lose hope! You gotta BILLIEVE!!!

Come on out and watch the Bills take on the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday at 1pm.

New Year’s Eve

Hello 1,383 Bills fans!

Well, I think most of us went into last night’s game thinking we’d get crushed, so we were emotionally prepared for the nail biting 21-16 loss. I laid out five goals the Bills had to accomplish in order to win in Thursday’s email. They amazingly achieved four of them, yet the fifth they didn’t, which was score 20 points before the Pats could. If one of those field goals would have been a touchdown, we would have won that game. So now what? The Bills have two weeks to make some huge decisions. Should they put JP Losman in? Was Sam Adams benched for good? Can the Bills go on a run and win six of their remaining eight games?

Oh…and I gotta address this. I’m a huge fan of how Teddy Bruschi was able to come back from a stroke, I really am. But was the ESPN coverage of it during the ENTIRE GAME not the most obnoxious overkill for ratings you’ve ever seen? I can remember two huge plays in the game where somebody was talking about him and they didn’t even stop to acknowledge the game changing situations! One of them was when Aaron Schobel stripped the ball out of Tom Brady’s hand resulting in a huge turnover, and they continued to talk about Bruschi until the Bills snapped the ball 40 seconds later! It was a total Bruschi love-fest, and took away from the amazing game being played. I’m so happy we rarely play night games anymore, WAY too much drama involved.

So I hope everybody has a great two weeks. We have a Buffalo Bills golf bag we’re looking to raffle off, most likely to raise funds for Hunter’s Hope. We’ll have more details for you in the next email.

New Year’s Eve
On Saturday I spoke with fellow Bills fan Bruce Caufield, owner of Tracks Bar and Grill in Penn Station. He’s offered to throw a New Year’s Eve Party at his bar for us, which will be part of a Bills/Jets New Year’s game weekend! There will be an open bar from 9pm-1am which includes whatever you can drink in the place and all the beef-on-weck and wings you can eat, all for only $50!!! Anybody that’s been out in Manhattan for New Year’s knows what an amazing deal that is! Tailgate Chief Kevin Smith is perfecting recipes for bulk quantities of mimosas and bloody mary’s for the next morning in Lot 16C as well. If you have anybody coming into town for the game, it’ll be a great party to bring them to! Let me know if you think you’ll be attending.

Hope everybody enjoys their bye week!

Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots, PRIMETIME!

Hello all 1,392 Bills fans!

This is going to be a tough one folks. Our 3-4 Buffalo Bills stampede up to New England to take on the 3-3 world champion Patriots. Buffalo is coming off a humiliating loss to the Raiders, whereas the Pats are coming off a bye and loss to the Denver Broncos. Both teams are battered, but the Bills are 1-7 against the Pats in the last four years, 0-4 in Gillette Stadium.

Can they win? Hell yeah! The Patriots are most likely already looking past this game. But the Bills need to:
1) Shut down injured running back Corey Dillon, no ‘Swiss Cheese’ defense this weekend guys
2) Put pressure on girly-man Tom Brady, honestly has there been a QB more hated by Bills fans since Marino?
3) Give Holcomb time to take shots down field, HOLCOMBANIA BABY!!
4) Willis McGahee – shut your mouth and RUN THE DAMN BALL!!!
5) Bills need to score more than 20 points before the Pats do, throw the playbook at em Mularkey!

Come join NYCBBB at Calico Jack’s and McFadden’s this Sunday night at 8:30 for this HUGE AFC East match up! Specials start at 6:30pm and run until the end of the game. Winner takes sole possession of first place! Does it get any bigger than this??? Dear God, Allah, Buddha, Tim Russert, John Roberts, Rick James, Mother Theresa, David Hasselhoff… whoever… please let us win this game!

From noon to 4pm, McFadden’s will be offering $3 Bud/Bud Lites and half price appetizers if you want to catch the early games.

It’s also our ‘Halloween Game’ so please dress up, I know many people will. If you don’t want to dress up, wear an old school Bills jersey then! Or you could do both by coming in an OJ Simpson jersey with a knife and…ok…I’m not going there….

THIS GAME IS HUGE FOLKS!!!! PRIME TIME!!!!! LET’S GO BUFFALO!!!!

GET FIRED UP!!! HAVE FAITH!!!!

Consumed by the Black Hole, AGAIN!

Hello all 1,382 Bills fans,

Wow, we got embarrassed by a 1-4 team with a home crowd of only 42,000 fans in a city we haven’t been able to win in since 1966! Coaching sucked, the offense sucked, the defense REALLY sucked (is it just me or is there a trend here?) McGahee, if you’re the best running back in the league like you say, why did you get shut down by a mediocre defense? Clements, if you’re the best cornerback, why did you get burned on numerous plays including a touchdown pass caught by a badly injured Randy Moss? Both these guys, and the entire team for that matter, should just shut up and play.

This team better get its act together before heading to New England next Sunday night where they take on the Patriots in a nationally televised night game. I don’t think I have to remind anybody how Buffalo has played in nationally televised games recently, especially against the Pats.

Is the season over? Not at all, but if the Bills want to make the playoffs they better get their heads out of their you-know-what’s, keep their mouths shut, and start playing some serious football.

If there’s any bright spot in Buffalo sports right now, it’s the Buffalo Sabres, who are 6-2 and are one of the most exciting teams to watch in the NHL! Luckily, they take on the Devils (Friday) and Islanders (Saturday) this weekend, so be sure to catch them on TV!

Feedback
How was it watching the game (other than the outcome) with NYCBBB at McFadden’s and Calico’s? PLEASE let us know, we need to hear both the good stuff and any bad stuff so that we can make it the best possible experience for everybody in the future! Or, do you have anything you want to get off your chest about the game? Please opine on our message board (no bloviating!).

Halloween
Next weekend’s night game will be NYCBBB’s annual Halloween game! We had some interesting costumes last year (who could forget Marylyn Monroe and Little Bo Peep hanging out with the real Tim Russert, who made an appearance at NYCBBB???) so we hope you can top those! If you don’t wear a costume, we ask that you wear a retro jersey. I know I’ll be breaking out my Sam Gash #33! I want to see the Shane Conlan’s, Darryl Talley’s, ‘House’ Ballard’s….and even an OJ in there somewhere. Let’s make it a fun night!

I almost forgot how awful Mondays are after a loss…

Buffalo Bills at Oakland Raiders

Hello all 1,384 NYC Bills fans!

In the words of Van Miller, “Do you BILL-ieve it???”

Our Buffalo Bills (3-3) are tied with the Patriots for first place in the AFC East ! This Sunday, the Bills head out to the ‘Black Hole’ of the Oakland Raiders, a stadium they haven’t won in since 1966. Putting that year in perspective – the Beatles top the charts, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin meet, and Thurman Thomas is born.

The Raiders (1-4) will likely be without Randy Moss but they’re desperate for a win, and as we all know, desperation can go a long way on the football field! Be sure to check out www.BillsDaily.com for the latest news! And yes, cheeseburgers are on the menu this weekend!

Come join NYCBBB and watch the Bills take on the Raiders at 4:15pm. Calico Jack’s will be opening at 3pm, and McFadden’s will be open at noon if you want to catch the early games. The specials run from 3:15 to 8:15pm, reserved seats at Calico’s will be lost at 4pm if you’re not there. It’s supper time so be sure and enjoy the wings, beef on weck, and Sahlen hot dogs!

Thanks to all of you that came to the NYCBBB tailgate last weekend at the Ralph, hope everybody had as much fun as they looked like they were having! I know I did!

New Years Bills/Jets
For those of you heading to the Bills/Jets game at the Meadowlands on New Year’s Day, NYCBBB will be throwing its annual tailgate at the stadium as well as a New Year’s Eve party in Tracks Bar and Grill in Penn Station. I believe it’s going to be $50 for an open bar for the night, which we all know is an AMAZING deal in Manhattan for NYC’s biggest night! We’re also working on a few other surprises as well. There are some Bills/Jets tix for sale on our message board.

Canisius Chargers/Bills Weekend
If you’re a Canisius Alum, the school has a trip planned for the November 20th Bills/Chargers game in San Diego. For reservations or info visitwww.canisius.edu/alumni/ or call the Alumni Office at 1-800-201-4952.

Help!
The leg room in my new aisle season tickets (section 118) at the Ralph are smaller than my old ones, and the Bills can’t move them until next year. The long legs that anchor my 6-7 frame don’t fit and I’d love to find somebody to exchange seats with for the Chiefs game! Let me know if you’d like to exchange, or if you know a surgeon that can remove 7 inches from my legs! Also, let me know if you have 2 seats for sale. Yes, I’m laughing at myself.

First Place

Hello all,

How about that! There’s not much better than thumping division rivals two straight weeks. With the Patriots loss, we’re tied for first place! How long has it been since we were able to say that?

The Bills hope to keep the streak alive Sunday when they take on the 1-4 Raiders. Remember, this game will be at 4:15 too! Drink specials start at 3:15.

Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets

Hello all,

Come watch the Bills as they try to get to .500 against division rival New Jersey Jets. Remember the game starts at 4:15!!! I’ll never forget one time last year when someone came running in at 1 for a 4pm game. A look of sheer terror came across his face as he asked “this is still a Bills bar, right?” I said “yeah, but the game’s at 4.”

Drink special starts at 3:15.

Jets/Bills Tailgate
For those of you heading up for the game this weekend, NYCBBB’s Kevin Smith and Matt Kabel will be throwing a huge tailgate starting at 10:30am in the private lot directly to the East of Lot 1 on the Big Tree Road (20A) side of the Stadium. Two kegs of Labatt Blue will be on hand, which $5 will get you unlimited beer from them. They’ll also have plenty of grill space. Former Bills TE Mark Brammer will be on hand until 2:30, and they’re hoping to have singer Michael Bly perform until that time as well if he can find a generator. Matt’s cell phone is 917-279-6798.

Tailgate at the Ralph

Hello my fellow Buffalo Bills fans!

Phew! That was a nail biter, eh? The Bills squished the fish 20-16 yesterday in what should have been a blow-out after taking a 17-0 lead. Looks like Kelly Holcomb provided the necessary spark, and the luck of the ‘Kelly’ name in Buffalo sports prevails.

I’ve said in past emails (and to many of you yesterday in Calicos who thought we had it won with 17 points in the 3rd quarter) that for the Bills to win, they need to put up at least 20 points. Our defense has enough playmakers that they can keep any team to less than 20 points, as evidenced by yesterday’s fumble jarring hit by Nate Clements at the end of the game. It was an ugly win, but we needed it to keep us in the playoff hunt.

The Bills are now 2-3, but what matters is that we’re 1-0 in the division. If we pull off a win against Vinnie Testaverde and the Jets next weekend in Orchard Park, we’ll be 3-3 and 2-0 in the division, which means we’ll be in good shape! It won’t be easy though, the Jets beat Tampa Bay yesterday, the team that steamrolled us last month.

If you’re not heading to the Promised Land for the game, McFadden’s and Calico’s will both be rocking with Bills fans!

Bills @ Jets NYCBBB Tailgate
Several of us NYCBBB members will be at the game in Orchard Park this weekend, and will be tailgating in a private lot off of 20A/Big Tree Road. We’ll be located next to Kenny Johnson’s Pinto tailgate in Lot 1 – Pole 5 on the other side of the tree line. We’ll have 2 kegs of Blue Light which we’ll charge $5 per cup for unlimited beer. We’ll also have plenty of grill space, so feel free to bring some food to throw on there. The good thing about being in the private lot is that we’ll be setting up at 10am for the 4pm game, whereas the Bills lot won’t be open until noon. Here’s a map, we’ll be in the white area directly to the right of Kenny’s tailgate (its pole 5, NOT 6,) so if you find him, you’ll find us!

If you’re planning on tailgating with us, please let me know by replying to this email!

Buffalo Bills vs. Miami Dolphins, Ralph Wilson!

Hello 1,356 Bills fans!!!

Its SQUISH THE FISH time in Orchard Park as the AFC East leading Miami Dolphins come to town to take on the Buffalo Bills this Sunday at 1pm. They’re panicking down at One Bills Drive, and rumor has it that JP Losman will be benched in favor of Kelly Holcomb. Let’s hope the ‘Kelly’ name provides the Bills with some luck so the Bills can avoid going 1-4 on the season. What do you think of the move? If you care to opine, please visit our message board to discuss.

One thing we got going for us – Last year, the Bills turned around the season in the 5th game…against the Miami Dolphins. Could it happen again? Come on down to Little Buffalo on Sunday and find out!!! LET’S GO BUFFALO!!!!

Thanks to all of you who turned out to see the Buffalo Sabres beat the NY Islanders 6-4 last night. I’m happy to say that the new fast paced NHL is very exciting to watch! I can’t remember ever drinking a margarita while watching hockey though?

Ralph C. Wilson, Jr.
We at NYCBBB and Bills Daily are sick and tired of Ralph Wilson being overlooked for the NFL Hall of Fame. He and Art Modell (yeah, the guy who moved the Cleveland Browns!) split votes last year, so we decided to take the fight to the voters and are unveiling:
www.RalphtotheHall.com

We got word that GM Tom Donahoe discussed this website in a Q/A session with Bills fans in San Antonio last weekend, so Mr. Wilson is aware of the page. The homepage is our case for Mr. Wilson, and we also included the work email addresses for the voters that determine who will be inducted this year. We also grouped the email addresses at the bottom so you can send to them all at once, but we ask that you BCC THE ADDRESSES. Please keep your emails short and to the point, and be courteous. Help us get Mr. Wilson into the Hall, where he certainly deserves to be! Let us know if there’s anything that needs to be added to the page or any suggestions you may have by replying to this email.
