New York Jets Tailgate and Buffalo New Years Weekend

Hello all 1,435 Bills fans!

The Bills close out the regular season this Sunday against the equally pitiful Jets at the “Swamplands” in New Jersey. Some fans hope we lose this game for the chance at a better draft pick, but not me! I’ve been to the last three Jets/Bills games here and we’ve lost every time, so they better win this time around. I’ll also be sitting behind the Bills’ bench so I’m deciding which sign to make: FIRE DONAHOE or DON’T LEAVE US MOULDS! (By the way, the Donahoe opinion is solely mine, not that of NYCBBB!)

We have some important updated info on NYCBBB’s New Years Weekend. If you’re partaking (or thinking of) in any of it, please read on:

New Years Eve Party at Tracks
We’ll be throwing our New Year’s Eve Party at Tracks Bar & Grill located in the Long Island Railroad section of Penn Station. It may be in Penn Station, but it’s a really nice place that boasts great food, great times, and the longest bar in Manhattan! From 9pm-1am $50 will get you unlimited beer, wine, WELL drinks, and a large buffet of food. This is an incredible deal on New Years Eve in Manhattan, so feel free to bring non-Bills fan friends, I know I am. Best part is that it’ll be super easy to get to by subway or train. Thanks to all of you that have been rsvp-ing, please continue to do so in an effort to get an accurate count! Looks like a good crowd is shaping up, so we’ll see ya there!

Bills @ Jets
We aren’t really sure whether the lots open at 7:30 or 8:30am as the Jets website says both, but we can guarantee that Kenny ‘Pinto Ron’ Johnson will be there to open our tailgate! He’s bringing the famous bowling ball for shots, the bar, canopies if needed, firewood, and a helmet for deep frying wings (that should be interesting?)

As always we’ll be meeting in Lot C – Pole 16 which is located on the southeast side of the stadium. Parking is $15 and we recommend getting there early so you can park near us. One of our members who plans on being there early will be flying his Bills flag on a VERY tall pole, so look out for that.

There’ll be plenty of grill space so if you want to bring food to cook and don’t have a grill, feel free to bring it anyways! NYCBBB will also be providing 3 kegs of beer, which $5 will get you unlimited amounts of. We’ll be using this as our only fundraiser this year, so please help us out as all proceeds go to the NYCBBB fund which provides these emails, our webpage, tailgates in Buffalo, etc.

Don’t have a ticket? You have two options, either visit our message board and buy one, or just come for the tailgate and not bother with the game! We’ve heard from lots of fans that are coming JUST to tailgate since our parties there have become legendary. I’m sure somebody will have the game on a tv in the parking lot.

Please use the message board to buy tickets (lower level and suite available):
https://www.nycbbb.com/features/message-board/

There will be no NYCBBB bus this year due to the holiday so either drive, get a ride, or take the bus:

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the New Year’s Eve party and Jets tailgate! I have one bit of advice for those of you that are attending both events as I am…GET SLEEP ON FRIDAY!!!!

New York Jets Tailgate and New Years

Hello all,

Well that was a surprise. The Bills finally woke up and put an end to their away losing streak. Is McGee exciting or what?! And to Chad Johnson… Thanks for the gift! I enjoyed the win.

Remember this Sunday is our 4th Annual Tailgate Party at the Meadowlands! We’ll be gathering at our customary spot (Lot 16C). If you’re driving, get there early to get a spot. Be there!

Here’s more info, including info on kegs, grill space, etc.:
https://www.nycbbb.com/features/jetstailgate.shtml

Also remember that we’re having a New Years Eve party at Tracks Bar & Grill. I hope you all can make it! Although you don’t need to RSVP, please let us know if you plan to attend if you haven’t done so already. That way we can help Tracks gauge the size of the crowd.

See you this weekend,

Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Hello all,

Good news! McFadden’s WILL be showing the game this Saturday. They will be open until 5pm. Just enough time for the game and the special.

So Chad Johnson has a brand new celebration planned for Saturday’s game. You think that POs our D? I can just picture how frustrated Takeo must feel to miss the chance to knock his block off.

Maybe he’ll pull out an antler from his sock ala TO’s sharpie. Who knows…

Hello all,

A few reminders:
– The game is Saturday at 8:30.

Great Takeo Article:
This is a must read–especially now that our spirits are crushed. Gotta love him. I’m already looking forward to September 2006!
http://espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2257809

See that “Bigger, Stronger…” shirt he’s wearing in the article?

I jump onto Takeo’s site (http://www.takeospikes51.com/) to check it out and notice they have a merchandise section. I notice that shirt is NOT available there. So I shoot “Team Takeo” an e-mail and tell them they’re crazy for not selling it. An hour later they tell me it’s available. A day later they tell me the response has been great. I should get a commission. {cough}{cough}

See you Sunday,

Important News

Hello all,

All my negative and hateful thoughts were erased on Sunday when our faithful crowd erupted in a somewhat sarcastic–and perhaps alcohol induced–triumphant celebration when Reed scored to bring the score to 35-7. A few “civilians” (non NYCBBBers) were there and looked mystified that we’d celebrate such a meaningless score. Little did they know that the mind does mysterious things to overcome the immense mental trauma of being a Bills fan the last few years. That moment has to be one of the funniest moments I experienced with NYCBBB so far. The Bills have become a joke. Literally.

Ok, on to the important news about venues for Saturday!

This week’s game is on Saturday night, which puts us against McFadden’s and Calicos regular Saturday night crowd. There will be our regular special starting at 7:30, but the availability of TVs will be limited as will the sound.

As an alternate venue, Tracks (owned my NYCBBB member Bruce Caufield) will set aside room of us and have the game on with sound. Tracks is located in Penn Station, near the ticket booths on the LIRR level. Check out Tracks’ website:
https://www.tracksbargrill.com/about/

Please pass the news on to anyone you know who might not be on the list or read their e-mails.

In other news, check out an article on us that appeared in the Niagara Falls Reporter:

I can’t believe I’m looking forward to the draft already! And some front office shakeup.

See you Sunday,

Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots

Hello 1,424 Bills fans,

Man what a week. Moulds gets suspended, Donahoe call dissenters a bunch of jerks, Mularkey’s losing control.

Still, Bills fans are a resilient breed that don’t let turmoil get in the way of their beer drinking and wing eating. At least I hope that’s true. Nah, I know it’s true!!!

It’s Bills vs. Pats at 1pm. Lets see what the players are made of. Can they put all the mayhem being them? Will younger guys step up? Will McGee take one to the house? Will we see McGahee’s infamous stiff arm? Can Evans make some toast? Will JP continue to improve?

You know the place. You know the deal.

Jets Game
Do you need tickets or have extras to sell? The best way to find or sell tickets is on our message board.

New Years Eve Party
Just a reminder that NYCBBB will have it’s first ever New Year’s Eve bash at Tracks Bar & Grill in Penn Station. There will be an open bar from 9pm-1am which includes whatever you can drink in the place and all the beef-on-weck and wings you can eat, all for only $50. It’ll be a good warm-up for the Jets game the following day!

See ya Sunday,

Fire Tom Donahoe

Hello all 1,424 disgruntled NYC Bills fans,

Everybody here knows how supportive I’ve been of this team the last few weeks, giving them every possible chance. Well, yesterday those chances all ran out after an embarrassing 24-23 loss to Miami Dolphins, a team who is heading in an opposite direction than that of our Bills. It’s now official, the Bills have become the Cincinnati Bengals of the AFC, and aren’t going to reach the playoffs for the 6th consecutive year. Only 4 other teams have been as bad over that same span. GM Tom Donahoe has taken this once proud team and turned it into a sub-bar laughing stock of the NFL.

There are so many holes to fill on this team that you have to wonder, do you REALLY want the guy who created all those holes to be the one to fix them? Absolutely not, which is why Tom Donahoe should be fired at the end of the year. Western New York, which takes more pride in its sports teams that most cities, has been embarrassed by the Donahoe era. There is simply too much wrong with this team, and there is no quick fix. We have to rebuild both lines (which Donahoe ignored for 5 years) and replace our aging secondary, which is nearly impossible to fix in one off season. It’s going to be a much different team next year, which actually could be a good thing!

Oh, and for those of you attending next week’s game that want to show your anger towards the Donahoe era by making a nice “Fire Donahoe” sign, don’t bother since it’s been reported that signs like that have been confiscated by Bills security staff upon orders from the Bills’ brass. I didn’t know the Third Reich was in power at One Bills Drive.

Other people that should be shown the door:
Mike Williams – you’re overweight and have no heart. Biggest bust in modern Bills history and you’re going to cost us millions in cap space next year. Donahoe’s biggest mistake next to hiring Gregg Williams.
Nate Clements – you have ‘playmaker’ written on your locker, which is quite fitting considering that you’ve made every receiver that you’ve covered this season just that. Let somebody else shell out the big cash for your over-rated play.
Sam Adams – go somewhere else and play only when you want to, and please don’t use the “I need money to feed my kids” BS you cried about before we signed you.
Eric Moulds – Loved ya for all these years, but you’re not the playmaker you once were and unless you take a pay cut we have to spend the $ elsewhere. Will be sad to see ya go, too bad Donahoe destroyed this franchise and you never reached your full potential. Thanks for the great memories!

People that need to improve:
Mike Mularkey – I really want to like you, but enough of this cute crap! Throwing the ball on first and goal when you’re up by 3 touchdowns, handing the ball off to Shaud Williams on 3rd and 9 with the game on the line, having Roscoe Parrish line up at QB when you’re blowing the Dolphins away…what the HELL is the matter with you? You said this would be a smash mouth football team, but all I see is a bunch of nannies out there. Bring some aggressiveness back to this team for crying out loud, and stop being cute!
Willis McGahee – best back? You’ve got to be kidding me! You’re looking more and more like Travis Henry every week, without the 15 year old girl. Some of it’s the o-line and coach’s fault, but you’ve been far from as good as you say you are.

People I have hope in:
JP Losman – looking better and better every week, this is slowly becoming his team.
Lee Evans – getting over the sophomore slump, I foresee big things next year.
Jason Peters – for a guy who never played the position before this year, he held his own against Jason Taylor yesterday. I see big things in his future, and he was undrafted, take THAT Mike Williams.
London Fletcher – You started off slow, but you’ve shown the heart of a lion this season.
Aaron Schobel – You’re going to have double digit sacks this year, too bad the rest of the line sucks.
Terrence McGee – You deserve to have ‘playmaker’ written on your locker, I’m sure you can take it off Clements’ locker when he cleans it out.

OK…enough raving and ranting, I think everybody out there has the same feelings about this team and where it’s headed. We’re going to have to rebuild, and to do that, we need to start at the top. Good-bye Tom Donahoe, you never reached out to us Backers and you’ve humiliated me and the other diehard fans of our beloved Buffalo Bills. In four years of the NYCBBB, we’ve never gotten to meet up and watch our team in the playoffs, and it doesn’t look like we’ll get to do that anytime soon thanks to you.

I’ll be traveling the next few weeks, so my humble (and less wordy!) Co-Founder Matt Soreco will be sending the emails. I hope everybody has a great Holiday, and I’ll catch up with all of you at the New Year’s Eve Party and Bills/Jets tailgate!

SQUISH THE FISH!

Hello all 1,428 Bills fans!

It’s the most….wonderful time….of the year…ding dong ding dong……

The Rockefeller Christmas tree is lit, I have Christmas music pumping though my computer speakers, and there’s snow in the forecast for next week! This is my favorite time of the year, and what makes it even better is that THIS is when the football season really heats up. JP Losman lashed out at the media yesterday for saying the Bills are out of the playoffs, and is fired up to prove them wrong!

The Bills take on the improving Miami Dolphins in Florida this Sunday at 1pm. Miami will be playing without Zach Thomas, and Buffalo will be playing without Lawyer Milloy. Willis McGahee always plays big games against Miami, especially when he’s in his home town. Many Bills fans agree that any season can’t be too bad when we get two wins against the stinkin’ fish!

Any TRUE Bills fans HATES the fish with all their passion, so I expect to see good crowds at both bars this Sunday. Calico Jacks may have some seats open still, so try giving them a call (212) 557-4300

AH! The ‘Christmas Shoes’ song is on the radio, the worst and most depressing Xmas song ever…anybody that’s heard it knows what I’m talking about here…

And no, the Holiday Spirit does not apply to the Dolphins, so feel free to hate and curse them as much as you want! I know I will! There’s a reason Buffalo consumes more fish fries than any other city in the country!

Check out www.BillsDaily.com for up to date Bills news.

NYCBBB New Year’s Eve Party
I’d like to start taking RSVP’s for our New Year’s Eve Party at Tracks Bar and Grill on Penn Station. From 9pm-1am, $50 will get you all the beer/booze you want and food you can eat. It’s an amazing deal, I know that a bunch of Bills fans are going and bringing non-Bills fan friends. It’ll be a great pre-party for the Bills/Jets game the next day! For more details, shoot me an email. I’d like to give fellow Bills fan and owner Bruce Caufield a head count in the near future.

Fish Fry, UB Fundraiser

Hello 1,410 Bills fans!

Yes, the Bills lost yet another close one, and yes I’m going to focus on the positive. Again, JP Losman is improving and showing us that he could be the answer at quarterback for years to come. Also, a lot of the young guys stepped up and played a solid game. But most importantly we may have lost, but it was luckily to an NFC team. New England lost to an AFC team (Chiefs) who we crushed two weeks ago, which puts us two games behind them but with a strong conference record. We’re still in this folks, and the best part is that this weekend our Bills head down to Miami where they will surely SQUISH THE FISH!!! McGahee always has big games against the Fins, so look for an exciting game where he can stick his money where his mouth is!

The game is at 1pm on Sunday, so if you’re looking to do any Christmas shopping in the city, it’d be a great day to come in and take care of that!

University of Buffalo NYC Fundraiser

If you’re a UB graduate from the last 10 years (or so), then you won’t want to miss our Annual Wings Nite in NYC! Come on out and bring some friends, family or a spouse and enjoy a night of authentic Buffalo-style wings cooked up with a side of nostalgia for the UB you know and love. $20 for UBAA members, $25 for non-members.

Carolina Panthers vs. Buffalo Bills, Gobble Gobble

Hello all!

That was a tough loss on Sunday, but if you’re going to focus on anything, focus on the positives! Of course there were only two glaring positives, one being our special teams. The other was a solid performance by JP Losman. I think the true learning curve for the kid is about to begin, as he showed some nice flashes of brilliance which were masked by horrible play from the rest of the offense. That play where he avoided a sack, rolled out, and launched the ball 40 yards (with little effort!) to the end zone was a thing of beauty…if only Josh ‘stone hands’ Reed would have caught the ball! He’s definitely the most exciting Bills QB to watch since the other #7.

Buffalo takes on Carolina this Sunday in Orchard Park, which means they’ll be a different team and likely upset the Panthers. The game is at 1pm, and both bars will be open for business with the game on all the tv’s with sound.

I’m sure everybody will be sick of turkey by then, so come on down and join NYCBBB for some beers, wings, and football! Starting at noon today, you can make table reservations at Calico Jacks by calling 212.557.4300

We here at NYCBBB wish all of you a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

I brought back a couple tubs of Bison Chip Dip to introduce the wife’s family to this snack from the gods!
