Squish the Fish Part II

Hello!

It’s payback time. It’s time the Bills avenge their 35-8 loss against the Dolphins earlier this season. I’m going to be watching the character of this team. Are they going to lie down or fight? Are there guys on this team worth building around? That’s what I’ll be paying attention to.

You already know the time and place. If not, 1pm at McFadden’s and Calico Jacks.

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season so far!

Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills, 80 in TV!

Good morning all 2,014 NYC Bills fans!

Sorry for the late email, have been buried at work and forgot to send earlier. The Bills play host to the Titans today at 1pm. Lets be honest here, we’re due for a win.  Specials at McFaddens and Calicos start at noon. If you need added incentive to come down to 42nd and 2nd, McFaddens just replaced the projector with an 80 inch flatscreen! I can’t wait!

My wife’s family, all Jets fans, convinced my 5 year old son that the Jets are awesome and the Bills stink when they babysat him recently. I had to inform him that Santa hates Jets fans and doesn’t deliver presents to them. Oh, and monsters live under their beds.

See you in a few hours!

Bills at NJ Jets, Tailgate Info

Hello all 2,018 NYC Bills fans!

Hope everybody enjoyed their Thanksgivings! I was down on the west coast of Florida for last week’s game which wasn’t televised locally, good thing as I heard it was one of the worst games ever played by a Buffalo Bills team. Fred Jackson is out for the year so its finally time to see if number 9 overall pick CJ Spiller can justify the position at where the Bills took him. The Bills head to NJ to take on the Jets at 1pm, the game will be shown with specials at McFadden’s and Calico Jack’s.

If you’re heading to the game like I am, we’ll be in the same tailgating location that we were in for the Giants game a few weeks ago. Again, McFadden’s will be providing some beer for those heading there that can’t drive, and they’ve decided not to charge for it. Because of this, I ask that you be honest and only use the beer if you had to take mass transit to the game, its a very nice thing for McFadden’s to do for us. I traded texts with Kenny “Pinto Ron” Johnson who will be there as always with his famous tailgate. Please see links below to a map of our location and pictures from the Giants tailgate so you can fully understand where we are. Its called Lot 26 next to the IZOD Center and we’ll be near pole A. We easily had 150+ Bills fans there a few weeks back The best way to describe the location is if you see the huge failed mall they built and you look at the ski ramp, if you drove a car up and off of it you’d fall onto our spot.

Buffalo Bills vs. Dallas Cowboys

Hello all,

First, thank you to all the veterans for protecting us and ensuring the freedoms we enjoy.

It’s been a while since I fired off an e-mail. How are you all doing?

The Bills travel to Dallas this week. Game is at 1pm. You all know the deal.

Let’s hope the Bills bounce back from that disaster against the Jets. If you take it from Mark Miller, Dallas is going down!

Heads up on upcoming Jets game and tailgate
McFadden’s is going to set up a tailgate for the Jets game again. For drinks, this time they’re going to sell bracelets for a small fee, which you’ll be able to get at the bar in the upcoming weeks. Of course anyone can byo and hang out together. More details will come soon.

That’s all folks.

New Jersey Jets at Buffalo Bills, White Out!

Hello all 2,011 NYC Bills Fans!

There’s going to be a White Out in Orchard Park this weekend, and not the snowy kind. The Bills will be wearing their white uniforms at home and fans are being encouraged to wear white to the game, to be supported with tens of thousands of white pom-poms. Should be a cool visual spectacle. If you’re heading to the bars this weekend, feel free to wear white and support the effort. Our Bills face off against the NJ Jets this Sunday at 1pm, c’mon down and watch this HUGE division match up at McFadden’s & Calico Jack’s.

Couple notes:
1) Clocks turn back an hour on Sunday morning, so don’t forget to do so and get the extra hour of sleep
2) The NYC Marathon is this Sunday, so plan accordingly!
3) Labatt Blue will be running a promotion at the bars during the game where they’ll be giving away 2 Tickets to the Jets/Bills game in NJ! You can only win by being there.

Finally, good old Matt Soreco will be at McFadden’s to watch the game this weekend with us. Its been a long time since the two founders of our group of WNY degenerates have watched a game together in there, so be sure to come on over and say hello.

This is a huge game folks, we could go 6-2 and have a 2-0 division record at the halfway point. By the way, Rex Ryan has never won the first game coming off a bye…..

GO BUFFALO!!!!

See you Sunday!

Washington Redskins at Buffalo Bills, Special Seating at McFadden’s

Hello all 2,001 NYC Bills Fans!

Wow, we finally hit 2,000 members, we’d been hovering just below for over a year. Thanks to all of you for coming out to the Bills Tailgate at the Meadowlands last week, I was expecting around 50 fans so was excited to arrive and find 200 of us there. Too bad we blew it in the end by being overaggressive, I hope that loss stuck in their guts over the bye and they hit the field hungry for a win. And a special thank you to McFadden’s for bringing a ton of free beer and food! NYCBBB was also in the NY Daily News that morning as well, you can read it here: http://goo.gl/jJTae

The Bills take on the Redskins at home….err…in Toronto this Sunday at 4pm. Drink specials will run from 3pm until the end of the game. With the game being at 4pm, McFadden’s is implementing some rules for seating to ensure Bills fans are able to get seats and not have to sit there all morning if they don’t want to. So here’s the deal:

– Starting at 11:30, members can arrive at the bar in person where they can reserve a table for the game. In order to do so, they MUST purchase a drink bracelet. First come first served.

– After signing up, you can leave or stay for the 1pm games. If you leave, one person from your table must be back at the bar by 2pm to claim it, the others can arrive any time prior to the game. The dining room will remain closed until 2pm, if nobody from your party is there when it opens your table will be given away.

I think this is a great solution to ensure that those who arrive early are rewarded with a table, but don’t have to sit in the bar for an extra couple hours if they don’t want to.

Buffalo Bills at New Jersey Giants, Plus Tailgate Info

Hello all 1,981 NYC Bills Fans!

I just read Stevie Johnson’s interview in GQ this week and saw that the team is referring to themselves as the Goon Squad, based off of 1980s classic The Goonies. I think that’s rather fair comparison, a bunch of like-able guys who were written off as losers, I suppose Gailey serves as a good Sloth, no? We were interviewed by the NY Daily News yesterday, so look out for an article that mentions NYCBBB on Sunday.

The Bills come into our hometown this weekend to take on the New Jersey Giants. I read some article this week saying how the best team in NY this year is the Bills. Uh, sorry, the Bills are the ONLY team in NY. That said, the games will be on at McFadden’s & Calico’s as always.

For those like myself heading to the game, I spoke with Kenny “Pinto Ron” Johnson this week and asked him about a tailgating spot. We always used to tailgate in 16C, but that is now a premium lot. Funny enough, we became such good friends with the Jets fans in that section over the last 10 years that last year they reached out to Kenny and told them their new location which is a lower tier lot that everybody with a pass can access, and is also a parking lot that fills up slower so most should be able to get into. Here’s a map of the spot:
https://www.nycbbb.com/notes/giants-tailgate-location/

Its called Lot 26 next to the IZOD Center and we’ll be near pole A. Kenny called and verified the spot again this week so we are good to go, he said the best way to describe the location is if you see the huge failed mall they built and you look at the ski ramp, if you drove a car up and off of it you’d fall onto our spot. This is a good test run for our soon to be Jets tailgate later in the season.

That said, McFadden’s will be throwing a tailgate with us and wants to make sure that people who have to take public transportation to the game have plenty of beer and food to enjoy. If you want to partake, please email me so I can get a headcount for them on what to bring.

I’ve got one fan looking to sell 2 club level seats and a parking pass for $340, email me if interested and I’ll put you in touch.

Thanks to all who came out and supported Buffalo on the Bowery Tuesday night, it was packed so assume many of you came.

GO BUFFALO!!

Buffalo on the Bowery Tonight, Giants Tailgate

Hello all 1,977 NYC Bills Fans!

Can you believe it, we’re 4-1! More on that in Thursday’s email but am taking a quick break from work to send this note reminding folks about tonight’s art benefit, Buffalo on the Bowery. What better way to keep the victory celebration going than a party featuring 65 accomplished Buffalo-affiliated artists, a host of Buffalo luminaries and hundreds of your Buffalo brethren? Admission is free, the silent auction begins at 6pm, live auction at 8pm. Proceeds go to two Buffalo-area charities, including PUSH Buffalo that throws an annual event here in NYC. The event is being held at:

Charles Bank Gallery
196 Bowery Street (Off Spring St)
6pm Silent Auction
8pm Live Auction

I am 100% attending so please let me know if you’re going, hoping to see many of you there! Its a great event and a great cause to support!

BILLS/GIANTS TAILGATE

We’re receiving requests about the Giants game this weekend. I traded texts this morning with Kenny “Pinto Ron” Johnson this morning, and seeing what McFadden’s is up to. We’ll have more details in Thursday’s email after we get our ducks in a row. In the meantime, this is where Kenny will be and where we’ll encourage Bills fans to head to:

NYCBBB MEMBER IN THE NEWS

This is a great article on NYCBBB Member Bernie Tolbert who is considering a run for Mayor of Buffalo. Bernie is one of our original members, coming to McFadden’s since our first season and is now back living in Buffalo after his tenure as a Senior VP of the NBA here in NYC. He’s also a great guy who loves Buffalo, so I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was personally hoping for him to throw his hat in the ring. Take a look:

Philadelphia Eagles at Buffalo Bills

Hello all 1,983 NYC Bills fans!

Boy that was a heart breaker last week. When that kick went through it had to be the quietest I’d ever heard McFadden’s, nobody made a peep for a full 15 seconds. The Bills are no longer media darlings and back to being underdogs. You know what, that’s exactly what I want us to be.

The Bills return to Orchard Park this Sunday where they take on a very tough Eagles team at 1pm. The game will NOT be televised locally since the Giants are playing. There’s no better place to be than watching with your fellow NYCBBBers. McFadden’s and Calico Jacks’ will be rocking as usual, and Turtle Bay is accepting reservations. I know reservations were booked full up there last week, so please let me know your feedback if you watched there.

The Amish Rifle is due for a comeback game.

BUFFALO ON THE BOWERY
Just to remind everybody that there will be an art auction/fundraiser this coming Tuesday evening down in the Bowery to raise money for two Buffalo charities, one being PUSH Buffalo who NYCBBB has teamed up with in the past. I’m absolutely going, so would love to see many of you there at this worthwhile function serving Buffalo. More details can be found here: http://www.buffalobowery.org/

FITZMAGIC SHIRTS
Some former NYCBBBers that moved back to the holy land are selling shirts with a Fitzmagic logo on them via Buffalo sports columnist Nick Mendola. All proceeds go to Nativity Miguel Middle School in Buffalo, shirts can be purchased here: http://www.cafepress.com/fitzmagicforgood

Buffalo Bills at Cincinnati Bengals, 3rd Bar

Hello all 1,969 NYC Bills Fans!

Well, we’re 3-0 and media darlings. I love the 3-0 part, but would prefer to be under the radar and still being disrespected. This team of no-names plays better when they aren’t getting respect. Am curious to see how they handle the high expectations that come with winning and the spotlight trained on them. If you didn’t see it, this is a fantastic article on Buffalo and the Bills: https://sports.yahoo.com/news/theres-no-place-buffalo-nfl-233900984–nfl.html

Our undefeated Bills travel to Cincinnati this weekend to take on the Bengals at 1pm. Marvin Lewis has guaranteed victory, but the Bills are coming in on a record breaking scoring pace off of a huge division win against the Patriots. There’s no place you’d rather be than watching with your fellow NYC Bills Backers, I’m fired up to be back in NYC to watch at McFadden’s this Sunday.

Again, we’re going to do a better job of managing the capacity at the bars on 42nd and 2nd. If you want to get in, please arrive early. In addition, the McFadden’s/Calico’s leadership also owns Turtle Bay on 52nd and 2nd Ave and they’ve agreed to replicate the exact same experience up there on their 2nd floor to handle the crowds. Same specials, same Shout song, game on all TVs with sound. They’re even allowing reservations, just call 212.223.4224 and tell ’em your a Bills fan and they’ll take care of you.

Oh, and if you didn’t see this AWESOME article on the Amish Rifle, fear the beard and read it:
