Hello all 642 Bills fans!

OK, my turn to try out this new email system that Matt Soreco implemented. It lists the number of members on our email list at the top so I can accurately show you how many of us Buffalonians are reading these emails in NYC. I never would have thought to do this, so we can all see what a great team Matt and I are! I’m trying to figure out how to work this damn thing, so bare with me! I’m numbering the topics cuz I have no clue how to put them in color like I usually do. Here we go…

1) Draft Party
Yes, I know we are pounding this into you, but this is the only off-season NYCBBB event we can guarantee doing to ease that suffering of the lack of our Bills and Buffalo. This is also NYCBBB’s 2nd Birthday, 20 members to 642 in two years! Who would have thought that there were that many of us here? And we’re still finding new members!

The party is this Saturday, which is supposed to be a beautiful day (hopefully we’ll be able to have those huge windows in front open!) so come into the city and hang out with your fellow Bills fans, drink some Labatt Blue (LIGHT), have some wings or a Sahlens Hot Dog, and feel like you’re back in Western New York for a few hours. Lets be honest here, this is a GREAT 7 hour special!

Also, we WILL have the Yankees/Red Sox game on as well as the draft. Here again are the specials:

From 12-7pm (During the ESPN Coverage)
$30 will get you all you can drink draft beer, including Labatt Blue AND Blue LIGHT!! The only beer not included is Guinness. This also includes all you can eat wings for those 7 hours! By purchasing the special, you will be entered into a raffle to win 2 tickets to an upcoming Yankees game! The winning ticket will be picked towards the end of the special.

Also, all mixed drinks (excluding top shelf and shots) will be $4 each. That includes Absolut, Captain Morgans, Jack Daniels, etc. (which I intend to be throwing back)

Sahlens hot dogs WILL be available for purchase.

This will be my girlfriend’s first trip to McFadden’s for a NYCBBB event, is it out of line for me to be a little scared of what she might witness?

Hello all,

Besides working with McFadden’s to improve our group this off-season, we’ve been working on other areas too. Most recently, our website. Some of the changes may be transparent, but we’ve worked hard to improve two key areas:

Not only is the main message board page integrated with the design of the rest of the site, each message also has some of the same design elements. If you remember what the messages looked like before, you’d agree that they now look much neater and they’re easier to read. NOW GO POST SOMETHING THERE!

Our e-mail delivery
Well I’m giving it the first official test drive right now!!! We’ve invested in a service that will handle the delivery and manage our mailing list. It performs a bunch of helpful behind the scenes tasks that make our job much easier. Without getting too much into details, it’s a million times better than the manual system we had been using.

That said, now’s a good time to ask for suggestions for the site. What would you like to see? What can be improved? Anything at all…

Draft

Hello all 650 of you!

Its that time of the year already, the schedules are out and the draft is upon us..and the birds are a-singin! Gonna be in the 70’s this weekend! In terms of the draft, there are major rumors that we are going to trade our 13th pick to move up or down, so we recommend you get there EARLY. Also, its a 7 hour special, so if you want to come in and watch the Bills pick, then head out to do some shopping or sightseeing and return for the next pick, its a perfect day for that! This may be the only NYCBBB event of the off-season, so please make the effort to stop by! Plus, its booze, wings and football…who can pass THAT up on a Saturday afternoon???

Draft Party – Next Saturday April 24th
Matt and I are still hammering away details for the season’s beer/food upgrades. Since the draft party is so unique, we came up with a special that will work in everybody’s favor. Plus, you can win 2 Yankees tickets!

Hello all,

Looks like the Bills are in a holding pattern until after April’s draft. We did manage to sign DT Oliver Gibson to add depth behind Sam Adams and Pat Williams. It was also reported that IF Kordell Stewart signs, he will return to his days of being “Slash” and be used in every game as a WR and RB with Bledsoe under center. Henry, McGahee, Slash…this is going to be one hell of an exciting offense IF it pans out that way. Of course, who knows if it will be successful….

Beer
OK…thank you for all your input about the beer at McFadden’s…I have two more (I hope) questions for you to answer. Here are the 3 possible beer combinations you could see at McFadden’s next year. I could not ignore all the Molson write-ins so I give in!!! Please pick 1 (one) that you would like to see:

a) Labatt Blue, Labatt Blue Light, Molson Canadian on tap
b) Labatt Blue Light and Molson Canadian on tap and Genny Light bottles
c) Labatt Blue and Labatt Blue Light on tap and Genny Light bottles.

and also, tell me which 1 (one) beer you plan on drinking the most of. I’ll try to get the results in place before the Draft Party on April 24th.

Poetic Justice
I am meeting up with some college buddies tonight for happy hour. Ironically, we will be meeting at Brother Jimmies on the upper East Side, former home of the NYC Bills Backers! I laugh every time I go in there and think how they threw out the original Bills fans 5 years and how they must be kicking themselves now!

NYCBBB Update
Matt Soreco and I met with McFadden’s staff last night and went over the results of the survey you answered a few weeks ago. All comments and suggestions were discussed and we have set a plan of action for NYCBBB at McFadden’s next year. Additional staff, a football food menu, improved specials, Bills/Yankees ticket give-aways, a bar for overflow, and more seating is on the way! And don’t worry you vegetarian Bills fans, we didn’t forget you either!

BEER
We are still in the process of fine tuning things, and I need some input from you concerning the nectar of life….BEER! We have agreed to do away with the bottle special and add another Buffalo style beer to the selection to make life easier. This is the choice you have to make, would you rather have:

A) Labatt Blue Light on tap in addition to Labatt Blue
B) Genny Cream Ale on tap
C) Genny Light on tap
D) Genny Cream Ale bottles
E) Genny Light bottles

Van Pelt
As I tearfully announced last night, Alex Van Pelt was released from the Bills. BUT, he was re-signed right after…as the color man on 97Rock with John Murphy! How great is that? In the words of Van Miller, ‘Do you believe in miracles?’

Looks like this is the kick in the rear I needed to work on getting 97Rock in McFadden’s on game days!

Hello all,

Its official, the Bills have signed cornerback Troy Vincent to a 6-year deal. We got him dirt cheap, so I am happy with the move, as he he a great player and a solid character who will also help out Buffalo’s charities as well as our locker room.

Sad news (for me at least)…the Bills have released backup quarterback Alex Van Pelt. The Pill (or Ol’ Pudge as I called him) had been on the team since 1994, and has been my favorite player since Jim Kelly left. My other favorite Bill, Sam Gash, has been signed by the New Orleans Saints, so my Gash jersey looks to be headed to permanent retirement.

Man….looks like I have to buy a new jersey if Bledsoe doesn’t return to form!

Remember the Bills Titans game this year? That backup qb who torched us for 300 yards? Billy Volek was in town meeting with the Bills yesterday and could be our new backup QB.

The Bills may sign a qb who has had one good NFL game in his career….hmm…that sounds familiar….

Reports are saying that the Bills have agreed to a deal with Eagle’s 5-time Pro-Bowl cornerback Troy Vincent (32 years old) today. No official word out of One Bills Drive just yet. Please check www.BillsDaily.com for updates.

Bills Land Vincent: Broadcast reports say that the Bills have landed their biggest free agent acquisition of the off-season. Reports from WNSA and Comcast SportsNet say that Troy Vincent has agreed to join the Bills. He supposedly told the Bengals of his decision this morning turning down a three year, $10 Million deal with Cincinnati. The Comcast report says his deal with the Bills is for six years and is worth $20 Million with a signing bonus of $3.6 Million. There is no official word yet coming out of One Bills Drive.

In our continuing effort to help Bills fans/Buffalonians network and work together in NYC, we have decided to create a page on our website that will allow members to advertise their services. Are you a real estate agent wishing to help Bills fans find apartments? A dentist who would offer their services to Bills fans? Maybe you own a restaurant and would like to advertise to Bills fans? Are you a financial consultant? A carpenter? A lawyer? Maybe you have a personal or small business that you want to market?

We are here to help you as fellow Bills fans! There are no costs involved, and we are running with this idea so we are open to suggestions!
