Hello all,

Looks like the Bills are in a holding pattern until after April’s draft. We did manage to sign DT Oliver Gibson to add depth behind Sam Adams and Pat Williams. It was also reported that IF Kordell Stewart signs, he will return to his days of being “Slash” and be used in every game as a WR and RB with Bledsoe under center. Henry, McGahee, Slash…this is going to be one hell of an exciting offense IF it pans out that way. Of course, who knows if it will be successful….

Beer
OK…thank you for all your input about the beer at McFadden’s…I have two more (I hope) questions for you to answer. Here are the 3 possible beer combinations you could see at McFadden’s next year. I could not ignore all the Molson write-ins so I give in!!! Please pick 1 (one) that you would like to see:

a) Labatt Blue, Labatt Blue Light, Molson Canadian on tap

I am meeting up with some college buddies tonight for happy hour. Ironically, we will be meeting at Brother Jimmies on the upper East Side, former home of the NYC Bills Backers! I laugh every time I go in there and think how they threw out the original Bills fans 5 years and how they must be kicking themselves now!

NYCBBB Update
Matt Soreco and I met with McFadden’s staff last night and went over the results of the survey you answered a few weeks ago. All comments and suggestions were discussed and we have set a plan of action for NYCBBB at McFadden’s next year. Additional staff, a football food menu, improved specials, Bills/Yankees ticket give-aways, a bar for overflow, and more seating is on the way! And don’t worry you vegetarian Bills fans, we didn’t forget you either!

BEER
We are still in the process of fine tuning things, and I need some input from you concerning the nectar of life….BEER! We have agreed to do away with the bottle special and add another Buffalo style beer to the selection to make life easier. This is the choice you have to make, would you rather have:

A) Labatt Blue Light on tap in addition to Labatt Blue
B) Genny Cream Ale on tap
C) Genny Light on tap
D) Genny Cream Ale bottles
E) Genny Light bottles

Van Pelt
As I tearfully announced last night, Alex Van Pelt was released from the Bills. BUT, he was re-signed right after…as the color man on 97Rock with John Murphy! How great is that? In the words of Van Miller, ‘Do you believe in miracles?’

Looks like this is the kick in the rear I needed to work on getting 97Rock in McFadden’s on game days!

Draft Party

Hello all,

Its official, the Bills have signed cornerback Troy Vincent to a 6-year deal. We got him dirt cheap, so I am happy with the move, as he he a great player and a solid character who will also help out Buffalo’s charities as well as our locker room.

Sad news (for me at least)…the Bills have released backup quarterback Alex Van Pelt. The Pill (or Ol’ Pudge as I called him) had been on the team since 1994, and has been my favorite player since Jim Kelly left. My other favorite Bill, Sam Gash, has been signed by the New Orleans Saints, so my Gash jersey looks to be headed to permanent retirement.

Man….looks like I have to buy a new jersey if Bledsoe doesn’t return to form!

Remember the Bills Titans game this year? That backup qb who torched us for 300 yards? Billy Volek was in town meeting with the Bills yesterday and could be our new backup QB.

The Bills may sign a qb who has had one good NFL game in his career….hmm…that sounds familiar….

Reports are saying that the Bills have agreed to a deal with Eagle’s 5-time Pro-Bowl cornerback Troy Vincent (32 years old) today. No official word out of One Bills Drive just yet. Please check www.BillsDaily.com for updates.

Bills Land Vincent: Broadcast reports say that the Bills have landed their biggest free agent acquisition of the off-season. Reports from WNSA and Comcast SportsNet say that Troy Vincent has agreed to join the Bills. He supposedly told the Bengals of his decision this morning turning down a three year, $10 Million deal with Cincinnati. The Comcast report says his deal with the Bills is for six years and is worth $20 Million with a signing bonus of $3.6 Million. There is no official word yet coming out of One Bills Drive.

In our continuing effort to help Bills fans/Buffalonians network and work together in NYC, we have decided to create a page on our website that will allow members to advertise their services. Are you a real estate agent wishing to help Bills fans find apartments? A dentist who would offer their services to Bills fans? Maybe you own a restaurant and would like to advertise to Bills fans? Are you a financial consultant? A carpenter? A lawyer? Maybe you have a personal or small business that you want to market?

Hello all!

The Bills have signed their first free agent, Right Guard Chris Villarrial from the Chicago Bears. Chris played 8 years for the Bears and started 109 out of 116 games, and is the tough and solid lineman Coach Mularkey loves. Look for the Bills to sign a left guard to replace Ruben Brown and a center in the near future. Chris Bober, former NY Giants center, will be visiting this week. The hit TV reality show American Idol is now down to two contestants, and one of them happens to be a Buffalonian! Idol John Stevens, resident of East Amherst, is a Frank Sinatra clone with red hair who led all voters in last night’s polling.

Fish Fry
I asked last email where to get a good fish fry in NYC, and many of you agreed on one place! Chip Shot in Park Slope was the hands down winner. The honorable mention was The Landmark Tavern on 11th and 48th Street.

Hello all 657 Bills fans!

The Buffalo Bills released 7-time Pro-Bowler Ruben Brown today. This means that the Bills will be very active in Free Agency starting THIS Wednesday and the upcoming draft in terms of offensive line. Also sounds like the Drew Henson deal is falling through, so keep an eye on the Bills to maybe select North Carolina State QB Philip Rivers. Don’t be surprised if we pick up Kordell Stewart as a back-up to Drew Bledsoe. Stewart excelled under Head Coach Mike Mularkey in Pittsburgh. Yeah yeah yeah…quit your groaning! I noticed a post on our message board about where to get a good Buffalo-Style fish fry, especially during the season of Lent. Anybody have a good spot by them, whether you are in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Jersey, CT? Please let me know!

Oh yeah…I got laughed at by some New Yorkers for saying “fish fry” because I guess they call it Fish and Chips here. Ugh…brought me back to my college days when I was laughed at for saying ‘pop.’

I’d like to take this time to thank the 131 NYCBBB members who responded to our McFadden’s related survey. Your response was VERY useful and Matt Soreco and I have taken all that information and written out a plan of action for McFadden’s to look over and try to implement. Yes, we will try to improve the wings, the big screen, the sound, the specials, and the # of staff on Sundays. And we didn’t forget about you vegetarians either! We had all kinds of suggestions including pumping John Murphy in, and even one asking me to stop discussing myself in emails and stick to Bills news only! I love the bluntness of Buffalonians! We’ll also look to see how we can get an autograph session at McFadden’s of a former or current player.

NFL Free Agency begins next Wednesday, March 3rd. TONS of rumors are flying around about the Bills being involved in some big trades, including us trading for former Michigan standout and NY Yankee Drew Henson. Hello all!

Well, other than me falling down the stairs and banging up my legs, my move to Bay Ridge went as planned and am now a Brooklyn Boy. I actually met a Bills fan in a restaurant around the corner from my new place while grabbing lunch in the middle of moving, so I considered it a sign from the football gods that I made the right choice. I also consider it a sign that I have a golf course and an Outback Steakhouse walking distance from me. How great is that? Many of you said I will be regretting it after Bills games at McFadden’s on Sundays, and my reply is “that’s what cabs are for!”

It ends up that one of our members, Gavin Pratt, works for a company that uses online surveys. Gavin did us a huge favor by creating Survey #2 online! I give him due praise since adding all the results from the first survey was a pain in the butt. Here is the link to the survey which has more to do with NYCBBB/McFadden’s. Thanks to everybody who replied! I spent 4 hours adding up the results of the first survey. Over 100 of you are interested in a trip to Buffalo for a game. Almost all of you want to fly, but you’re split down the middle whether it’d be a 2 or 3 day trip. You want t-shirts, sweatshirts, beer-holders (big shock there), stickers and other memorabilia. You want more info from the Bills including emails and get most of your news on the web. Many of you also said all you want is a Super Bowl victory. I sent the results to the Bills and they were VERY interested in our feedback.

Anybody else bored with the off-season yet? I need the Bills!!!
